All Systems Go: PS Eng. Mbugua Confirms Readiness for Rironi–Mau Summit (A8) Road Launch
Principal Secretary Eng. Joseph Mbugua this afternoon led a joint inspection of the launch sites for the Rironi–Mau Summit (A8) Road ahead of the official groundbreaking by President William Ruto tomorrow, Friday, 28 November 2025.
The inspection, conducted in collaboration with the Presidential Protocol team, National Government Administration Officers (NGAO), China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), and Shandong Hi-Speed Group (SDHS) representatives, focused on finalizing logistical preparations and confirming full readiness for the groundbreaking ceremony.
The Rironi–Mau Summit (A8) Road forms a vital section of the Northern Corridor. Its dualling is expected to ease congestion, enhance road safety, and significantly improve the movement of goods and passengers between Nairobi, Nakuru, and Western Kenya. Upon completion, the project will boost regional trade and reinforce Kenya’s position as a key transit hub in East Africa.
Also present during the inspection were Acting KeNHA Director-General Eng. Luka Kimeli, alongside other National and County Government officials.
