Government Accelerates Upgrades on Vital James Gichuru Road junction to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (A8/B10)
Today, Cabinet Secretary Hon. Davis Chirchir, together with Principal Secretary Eng. Joseph Mbugua, conducted an inspection of ongoing works along the JKIA–Mombasa Road to assess progress and ensure strict adherence to quality and safety standards.
The project entails capacity enhancement, landscaping, and beautification works from the James Gichuru Road junction to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (A8/B10), a critical section of the Mombasa–Malaba transport corridor within Nairobi County. Covering approximately 20 kilometres, with additional improvements along B10 Maza Road and associated access roads, the project is aimed at decongesting airport approaches, improving traffic flow, and enhancing the overall commuter experience.
The inspection reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to delivering efficient, modern, and reliable road infrastructure that supports mobility, trade, and seamless connectivity along one of Kenya’s busiest transport corridors.
The Acting Director General, Kenya National Highways Authority, Eng. Luka Kimeli, and representatives of the contractor were present.
