Government Drives Results and Accountability in Roads Delivery

The Roads Department on Tuesday held its monthly senior management meeting at the Works Building, chaired by the Secretary Administration, Mr. Evans Mutari, on behalf of the Principal Secretary for Roads.
The meeting reviewed the Department’s performance in the first half of the 2025/2026 Financial Year, with Mr. Mutari commending the Roads Sub-sector for steady progress in delivering its mandate. He urged Departmental Heads to harness the resources within their respective areas to surpass achievements recorded in the previous half of the financial year.
“With the significant investments being made in the roads sector, the public now expects tangible results, particularly the timely completion of construction works. Strengthened teamwork and collaboration among all key players and stakeholders is essential to ensure effective service delivery to Kenyans,” Mr. Mutari said.
The management team also assessed departmental performance and underscored the need to raise standards of efficiency, transparency, and productivity across all directorates. Discussions focused on refining departmental priorities, harmonising programmes, and strengthening interventions to support the effective implementation of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
Among the HoDs present were Ag. Director, Eng. Albert Ndege (Materials), Ag. Director, Arch. Geofrey Githiri (KHIBT), Rebecca Keli (Director ICT) among other representatives from the Directorates.
