Cabinet Secretary, Davis Chirchir held consultative discussions with Nyandarua County leaders

National Consultations Set Agenda for Improved Roads and Connectivity

Yesterday evening, Cabinet Secretary, Davis Chirchir held consultative discussions with Nyandarua County leaders, led by his Cabinet colleague, Cabinet Secretary Hon. Rebecca Miano (Tourism and Wildlife), as part of the Government’s ongoing nationwide engagement with local leadership on priority development initiatives.

The meeting, attended by Principal Secretary Eng. Joseph Mbugua, focused on the current state of road infrastructure in Nyandarua County, including key roads, bridges, and the wider transport network. Leaders reviewed ongoing and planned projects and jointly identified priority areas for improvement and upgrading to enhance connectivity, safety, and overall transport efficiency.

The engagement underscored the critical role of #SeamlessConnectivity in supporting Nyandarua’s broader infrastructure transformation, stimulating economic activity, and strengthening linkages between production zones, markets, and tourism circuits.

These consultations form part of the Government’s wider national objective to deliver balanced and sustainable economic growth across all regions. Through continued investment in world-class roads, bridges, and supporting infrastructure, the roads sector remains central to unlocking regional potential and boosting tourism growth.

The State Department for Roads, through its road agencies, is implementing a wide range of projects across both rural and urban areas nationwide. These investments are improving access and mobility, creating employment, and opening up economic opportunities for communities, in line with the Government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) and its commitment to inclusive and equitable development.

The meeting was attended by the Acting Director General of Kenya Rural Roads Authority, Eng. Jackson Magondu, Hon. Kiaraho (Ol Kalou), Hon. Kwenya (Kinangop), Hon. G. Gachagua (Ndaragwa), Hon. Faith Gitau (County MP), and Hon. Muchira (Ol Joro Orok).
