Kenya Participates in the International Engineering Alliance Meeting to Advance Global Engineering Standards

Principal Secretary Eng. Joseph Mbugua is leading Kenya’s delegation at the International Engineering Alliance Meeting (IEAM), hosted by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).

The annual IEAM is a global platform that brings together government representatives, engineering professionals, educators, and industry leaders from around the world to advance international collaboration and strengthen standards in engineering education and professional practice.

The meeting focused on strengthening international engineering cooperation through mutual recognition agreements, harmonisation of engineering education standards, and enhancement of professional mobility frameworks to facilitate the recognition and movement of engineering professionals across jurisdictions.

During the meeting, the Principal Secretary received commendation from the International Engineering Alliance (IEA) leadership for his stewardship and support of the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) in advancing its engagement within the Alliance's framework.

The Engineers Board of Kenya continues to submit progress reports following its admission as a Provisional Signatory to the Washington Accord as it works towards attaining Full Signatory Status.

Among the delegates accompanying the Principal Secretary is the Engineers Board of Kenya delegation led by the Acting Chief Executive Officer, Eng. Grace Onyango.
