Ministry of Roads and Transport Evaluated for FY 2024/2025, on 24th October 2025.
In a continued effort to strengthen efficiency, accountability, and results-based management in public administration, the Public Service Performance Management Unit (PMU) has conducted its annual evaluation of the Ministry of Roads and Transport for the Financial Year 2024/2025.
The assessment, held this morning, is part of the government’s broader agenda to enhance institutional performance and improve service delivery across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
The exercise evaluates how effectively institutions are implementing performance management systems, meeting their annual targets, and aligning with national development priorities under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
Speaking during the evaluation, PMU officials led by Deputy Director Wilson Ng’ang’a emphasized that the process is not merely an audit of performance indicators but a collaborative effort to entrench a results-oriented culture within the public service.
“Our goal is to ensure that every ministry operates with clear performance standards, measurable outcomes, and a strong commitment to excellence in service delivery,” Mr. Ng’ang’a noted.
The Ministry of Roads and Transport, a key player in national infrastructure development and mobility, presented its achievements, challenges, and strategic priorities for the FY under review.
The evaluation process centered on critical areas including road construction timelines, maintenance of existing networks, efficient service delivery, and the adoption of innovations aimed at modernizing transport systems nationwide.
In alignment with the BETA agenda, the has Ministry reaffirmed its focus on enhancing seamless connectivity across the country, improving rural access roads, expanding highway networks, and promoting sustainable transport solutions that facilitate trade, investment, and regional integration.
According to the PMU, the FY 2024/2025 evaluations help identify best practices, highlight areas that needs improvement, and guide the alignment of institutional objectives with the government’s overall development agenda.
